Marcia holds an LLB degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, LLM from the University of Pretoria, she is a PhD candidate at the University of Pretoria. She was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 2006.

Marcia was a government employee for 15 years prior to joining the Bar. In her role she was the late Minister Molewa's special advisor on Appeals. Marcia was also an Estate Controller at the Master of the High Court. In that role she coordinated, facilitated and implemented of the legislation within the Master of the High Court. Marcia is the first person to handle the first climate change internal appeal and litigation in South Africa. 

Marcia is currently a member of the Pretoria Society of Advocates, Polokwane Society of Advocates and the Mpumalanga Society of Advocates. She currently holds offices at Group 33 Advocates Chambers in Pretoria.
