Advocate Tshwarelo Makutu completed his LLB in 2019 at the University of South Africa (UNISA). In 2022, he completed a postgraduate diploma in intellectual property law management at UNISA.

In 2023, Advocate Makutu completed the General Council of the Bar (GCB) pupillage program at the Mpumalanga Society Advocates.

Advocate Makutu was admitted as an Advocate in 2024 and joined the Mpumalanga Bar the same year. His practice is for general litigation.
